Purpose
The purpose of this policy is to ensure that Hofstra University provides legally required workers’ compensation benefits to employees who experience a work-related injury or illness.
Scope
This policy applies to all eligible Hofstra University employees who suffer an injury or illness arising out of and in the course of their employment.
Policy
Hofstra University maintains workers’ compensation insurance, in compliance with New York state law, for all eligible employees who suffer work-related injury or illness. Employees must immediately report any workplace accident or injury to their supervisor, who must complete an Incident Report Form. They must also contact the Office of Human Resources at benefits@hofstra.edu or 516-463-6526.
