Purpose
The purpose of this policy is to establish requirements for the submission and verification of academic credentials for applicants seeking admission to graduate study. This policy ensures that all applicants meet minimum educational qualifications and that official documentation is obtained to confirm degree conferral prior to enrollment.
Scope
This policy applies to all applicants for matriculated and nonmatriculated graduate study at Hofstra University. It governs the submission of unofficial transcripts during the application process and the requirement for official transcripts from a regionally accredited institution prior to enrollment.
Policy
Applicants for matriculated or nonmatriculated study are required to present evidence of a baccalaureate or graduate degree from a fully, regionally accredited institution when they apply for admission.
Unofficial transcripts may be submitted electronically as part of the application process. Upon admission and prior to enrollment, an official transcript including proof of degree conferral, must be sent directly from the university in a sealed envelope or through a digital credential service.
